Descripción

Environment: Master Sandbox, https://apps.master.openedx.io/authoring/taxonomy/46/competencies

Follow-up to #835. Select any competency before checking the points below, so that the right-hand course panel is shown.

  1. The competency tree (left column) and the course panel (right column) have different heights. The difference depends on the screen size and the browser zoom level, and is most visible on large screens. For example, at a 1920x1080 viewport with a full page of 10 courses, the tree is 820px tall and the course panel is 1155px tall, which leaves an empty area under the tree.

Expected result: both columns have the same height at any screen resolution and zoom level.

  1. The course panel grows taller when a course in it is expanded, which makes the height difference from point 1 larger.

Expected result: the course panel keeps the same height as the competency tree. When expanded courses no longer fit, a scrollbar appears inside the course panel, the same way the competency tree already scrolls inside its own column after "Expand All".

On small screens, where the two columns stack vertically, the current layout works as intended. Both points apply to the desktop layout only.

Expected behavior:

The left panel (competency tree) and the right panel (courses) always have the same fixed height. This height is set so that the right panel fits one full page of 10 collapsed courses without a scrollbar. The height of the panels does not depend on the screen resolution, the browser zoom level, the number of competencies or courses, or whether they are expanded or collapsed. If the panels don't fit in the visible area on some screen or zoom level, the whole page scrolls.

When the content of a panel doesn't fit in its height, a scrollbar appears inside the panel, and the panel itself does not grow taller. The competency tree in the left panel already works this way after "Expand All". The right panel should work the same way when the user expands courses. Only the course list scrolls: the "Competency criteria associations" block above it stays in place, and the pagination is always visible at the bottom of the panel.

When there are fewer than 10 courses, or no courses at all, the right panel does not get shorter, and empty space remains below the list.

When the user drags the divider between the panels, the panel widths change and text wraps onto new lines, but the height of both panels stays the same.

This applies to the desktop layout only. On small screens, where the panels stack vertically, the current behavior stays as it is.
