Start with data/io.gknowledge.Gknowledge.gschema.xml and trace how the window is created and its state is saved or restored. Check the install, .deb, and Flatpak build rules to see how the schema is compiled and packaged. Run make test and make start; done when window size, maximized state, and last section restore after restart in each supported installation.

gedit and Text Editor restore their window state through GSettings. We use a JSON file only for recent projects.
