Start with the existing test in tests/library/chromium/connect-over-cdp.spec.ts and compare the upstream Mac Chromium timeout with the Python port’s timeout logs. Reproduce the discarded-page CDP scenario and identify the blocked operation before changing code; the shared root cause is not yet established. Done means the test completes within its timeout on the affected Mac Chromium runs.

The existing CD-004 should connect when an existing page has been discarded
test timed out in this
upstream Mac Chromium job
at 20a2087ea43412b90c172c88faef80786ee18b8b.
Test timeout of 30000ms exceeded.
The initial attempt timed out; retry 1 passed. The checked runs at b335271,
6e2c003, and eecb129 passed this test on their first attempts.
Environment: macos-15-xlarge, headless Chromium, chromium-library.
Test file: tests/library/chromium/connect-over-cdp.spec.ts.
The Python async port also exhausted its attempts on Mac Chromium:
Python 3.11, A
and Python 3.12, B.
Each log has four 30-second timeout diagnostics for the exact node, ending
in a pytest worker crash.
Expected: the existing discarded-page CDP test completes within its timeout.
Actual: it can time out upstream and in Python. This is a same-test timeout
match; the exact blocked operation and common root cause are not yet proved.
