Línea de trabajo

Start by locating the MeshCore mobile app’s main screen, connected-device status indicator, and existing command-line handling for poweroff. Check how the app identifies supported Companion devices and presents confirmation dialogs. Done means a discreet button is accessible from the main interface, asks for confirmation, and sends the existing command on supported devices.

Descripción

I would like to suggest adding a small, easily accessible Power Off button to the main interface of the MeshCore mobile app (iOS/Android), rather than hiding it deep within the device settings.

MeshCore firmware v1.18.0 already supports the poweroff command for Companion devices. I have successfully tested this feature on my LILYGO T-Beam Supreme.

However, powering off the device currently requires navigating to the command-line interface and manually entering poweroff, which is inconvenient for everyday use.

Suggested Implementation

Add a small Power Off icon (⏻) in an easily accessible location, preferably on the main screen or near the connected device's status indicator.

Keep the button discreet so it does not clutter the interface.

Display a confirmation dialog to prevent accidental shutdown.

Execute the existing poweroff command when confirmed.

Make the feature available for supported Companion devices.

Use Case

I am building a compact, waterproof MeshCore terminal based on the LILYGO T-Echo Lite, designed for outdoor and emergency communication.

The device will be enclosed in a sealed IP67 case with an external USB-C charging port and a small physical RESET button for restarting the device.

A conveniently located Power Off button would allow users to shut down their devices with just two taps, without navigating through menus or entering commands.

This would eliminate the need for an additional physical power switch, simplify waterproof enclosure designs, and help preserve battery life when the device is not in use.

Since the firmware already supports the poweroff command, this could be a simple but very useful improvement to the mobile app.

Thank you for considering this suggestion!
