Overview

kolibri-format 3.0.1 added 43 lint rules that Studio's frontend does not pass. The upgrade in #6328 turns all 43 off and records a reason for each one in eslint.config.mjs. Together they report 3,292 problems. The fixes need translated strings, renamed attributes, restructured tests, and style changes that alter what renders. This issue tracks turning the rules back on, one sub-issue per rule.

Out of scope:

  • n/prefer-node-protocol, which stays off for the browser bundle because webpack cannot resolve the node: scheme.
  • kolibri/vue-component-class-name-casing, vue/no-v-text-v-html-on-component, and vue/attribute-hyphenation, which stay off until Vuetify is gone.
Strategy
  • Delete the rule's entry from eslint.config.mjs as the last step of its sub-issue. A rule that is fixed but left off regresses.
  • Remove a prefix from DEFERRED_RULE_PREFIXES in the sub-issue that clears its last rule.
  • Fix jsdoc/require-param before jsdoc/require-param-description. Autofix for require-param inserts @param stubs with no description, so the description count goes up first.
  • Review the two theming rules visually, a green lint run is not enough.
  • Split kolibri/tests-no-hardcoded-strings by frontend app. It covers 630 problems in 61 files.

AI usage

I decided the scope and the split into one sub-issue per rule. Claude Code measured the per-rule counts against the upgrade-kolibri-format branch and drafted the sections.
