Línea de trabajo

Read src/Prompuff.Cli/McpServerHost.cs for tool registration, calls and authorization, then trace QuickSaveAsync in src/Prompuff.Cli/CliApp.cs and FirstVersion in src/Prompuff.Application/Services/VersionNotes.cs. Check the settings view and tests/Prompuff.Cli.Tests/McpContractTests.cs for existing patterns. Done means the opt-in tool saves validated prompts with client attribution, tests cover access, inputs and logging, and the README and user guide explain the setting.

Descripción

enhancement

Let an AI tool save a prompt it helped write, but only once you allow it. Today MCP is read-only, and turning it on in Settings › Integrations only lets AI tools read.

What to do

  • Add Let AI tools add prompts in Settings › Integrations. It's off by default, separate from "Let AI tools read my library (MCP)", and only works while that one is on.
  • Add an MCP tool that saves a new prompt: a title and a body, plus an optional description, tags and collection. It only adds. It never edits, deletes or touches favorites, ratings or remembered values. While the setting is off, the tool isn't listed.
  • Inputs come from another program, so check them as the app would: a title and body are required, tags go through TagName, and lengths have limits.
  • Each saved prompt's first version names the tool that saved it, from the client's name in the MCP handshake, such as "Saved by Claude Code".
  • Mark the tool with honest hints: not read-only, not destructive.
  • Never log titles, bodies or notes. Log the new prompt's ID.
  • The CLI's quick-save already adds a prompt, so share its path rather than writing a second one.

Where to look

  • src/Prompuff.Cli/McpServerHost.cs: Tools(), CallToolHandler, IsAllowed(), ServerInstructions
  • src/Prompuff.Application/Settings/AppSettings.cs: AllowMcp; src/Prompuff.App/ViewModels/SettingsViewModel.cs: the Integrations section
  • src/Prompuff.Cli/CliApp.cs: QuickSaveAsync
  • src/Prompuff.Application/Services/VersionNotes.cs: FirstVersion
  • tests/Prompuff.Cli.Tests/McpContractTests.cs

Done when

  • With the setting off, the tool isn't listed and a direct call is refused. With it on, Claude Code saves a prompt, and its first version names Claude Code.
  • The 1.0 MCP contract tests pass unchanged.
  • Tests cover the setting, bad inputs, and that nothing is logged beyond IDs.
  • docs/user-guide.md and the README describe the setting.
