Wayland doesn't let an app grab global keys or press keys in other apps. Quick save already handles this with a desktop shortcut that runs the app with --quick-save, and Quick insert follows the same pattern.

What to do

  • Add a --quick-insert launch argument, also accepted as quick-insert, like --quick-save. A second launch hands it to the running copy over the single-instance pipe, and a first launch opens Quick insert once the window is up.
  • On Wayland the result is copied, and Prompuff steps back as it does after Quick save.
  • Settings › Quick save shows the desktop-shortcut steps for GNOME and KDE with the exact command (the AppImage path from APPIMAGE, plus --quick-insert), beside Quick save's.
  • --quick-save and quick-save keep working exactly as in 1.0. Desktop shortcuts depend on them.

  • docs/user-guide.md has the Wayland steps.
