Línea de trabajo

Start by mapping the existing MCP/provider lookup and tool-execution entry points; no files or tests are named in the issue, so first identify where authorization and credential boundaries are enforced. Define a bounded evaluation against comparable tool-heavy tasks, measuring round trips, calls, tokens and cost, p50/p95 latency, and accuracy without regression.

Descripción

Problem

Tool-heavy research turns can involve many serial tool calls, each requiring another model round trip and adding latency, cost, and repeated context processing. Independent provider/API lookups may be batchable, and filtering or joining results before returning them could also keep bulky intermediate data out of conversation history.

Proposal

Evaluate a Code Mode–style capability that lets the model compose one bounded execution to run independent tool/API calls, filter and join results, and return a compact result.

Scope and caveats

  • Start with independent MCP/provider lookups; establish which workflows are actually bundleable before implementing broadly.
  • This will not automatically solve sequential shell workflows or polling. Polling may need a wait/subscription mechanism, and any in-execution waits must be bounded.
  • This does not address unrelated context compaction, model routing, cache behavior, or backend latency.
  • Preserve existing authorization and credential boundaries for calls made within an execution.

Success metrics

Evaluate against comparable tool-heavy tasks:

  • Model round trips and tool calls per task
  • Input tokens and cost per task
  • p50/p95 end-to-end latency
  • Task accuracy, with no regression
