Línea de trabajo

Start by reading fizzy.buildApp and the build steps and modules it edits, including build/web.zig and build/package.zig; compare the proposed building blocks with velopack-zig 0.1.0 and sentry-zig. First agree on a plan for addApp, addWeb, addPackage and dvuiModule. Done means the app can compose those building blocks while example-app continues to work.

Descripción

enhancement

Feature request from Graphl. fizzy.buildApp builds everything on fizzy's builder and returns nothing, so Graphl reaches into its steps by name and edits fizzy's modules and argv. Graphl patches these today:

  • rehome copies only a plugin's root module. Its submodules keep the other executable's dvui and target, and C sources, include dirs and link objects are lost. A web build of a plugin that imports dvui libraries needs the whole import graph re-homed.
  • The web build:
    • the wasm export list is fixed (build/web.zig)
    • the page is fizzy's web/index.html
    • the web and install steps live on fizzy's builder, not the app's
  • A plugin can't reach the executable's platform module (title-bar hints, window icon). See the menu issue.
  • There's no dvui-for-another-backend helper on the SDK package, for a plugin's tests and hosts.

Graphl suggests building blocks in the style of velopack-zig 0.1.0 and sentry-zig: addApp, addWeb, addPackage and dvuiModule, each returning artifacts and LazyPaths, with buildApp as a thin wrapper so example-app stays as it is. Moving build/package.zig onto velopack-zig 0.1.0's addVelopackStep would also pass the name and icon through.

This needs a plan before code. The packaging bugs are filed separately.
