Start by reading the existing macOS issue and the AppImage configuration; then build and test the AppImage on a current Ubuntu or Fedora desktop. Check that the frozen engine starts, Secret Service or KWallet keyring works, system text-to-speech works, and the tray icon appears. Done means the app can chat on a supported desktop and any distro notes are added to docs/DEVELOPING.md.

Same as the macOS issue, for Linux. The AppImage is configured but unverified.
Things to check on a real Linux desktop: the frozen engine starts, the keyring backend works (Secret Service / KWallet), system text-to-speech, and the tray icon.
Done when: the AppImage runs on a current Ubuntu or Fedora desktop and can chat, with any distro notes added to docs/DEVELOPING.md.
