Línea de trabajo

Start with the spike: the issue asks whether Stripe's terms allow minting merchant-bound, single-use cards for a desktop app, and no code should be written until that is answered in a write-up. If it is allowed, the plugin goes in sentient/integrations/plugins/ and is called from the purchase path in sentient/tools/rules.py (is_purchase) and sentient/browser/safety.py. Done means a test-mode card is minted for one merchant and amount and expires as scheduled.

Descripción

area: integrations enhancement help wanted priority: P2 size: L

Meta Muse and Instinct both buy with single-use cards, so the merchant never sees the real card. Stripe's terms for an open-source desktop app with no Sentient account are unresearched, so this starts as a spike.

Idea: An optional Stripe Link integration on the user's own account that mints a card bound to one merchant, amount and time window. The user approves the amount every time. Purchases still always ask (#105).

Status in Sentient today: New.

Where: A spike write-up first, then a plugin in sentient/integrations/plugins/ used by the purchase path in sentient/tools/rules.py (is_purchase) and sentient/browser/safety.py.

Done when:

  • the spike answers whether Stripe's terms allow this for a desktop app
  • if they do, a test-mode card is minted for one merchant and amount and expires
