Start with the category tag constants in src/native/clr/include/constants.hh and the category-to-tag selection in src/native/clr/shared/log_functions.cc, then find the managed logging call sites under src/Mono.Android/Android.Runtime/ and src/Mono.Android/Microsoft.Android.Runtime/. Done means every monodroid and monodroid-* tag is renamed to dotnet / dotnet-* on both CoreCLR and NativeAOT, with log levels and filtering unchanged, and the docs and tests that reference the old tags are updated.

Description

Rename the legacy monodroid logcat tag to dotnet to match the current .NET for Android product and runtime naming.

Apply the naming consistently across managed and native logging, including category-specific tags such as monodroid-assembly, monodroid-gc, monodroid-timing, and monodroid-network (for example, dotnet-assembly and dotnet-gc). Audit other monodroid-* tags and case variants for consistency.

Relevant implementation locations include:

  • src/native/clr/include/constants.hh: native logcat category names.
  • src/native/clr/shared/log_functions.cc: native category-to-tag selection.
  • src/Mono.Android/Android.Runtime/ and src/Mono.Android/Microsoft.Android.Runtime/: managed logging call sites.

Preserve existing log levels, category filtering, and message contents. Update related documentation, logcat filters, scripts, and tests that depend on the old tags, and document the change for users with existing filters. Cover both CoreCLR and NativeAOT.

This request concerns logging tags only; native entry points, library names, and error codes are not part of the rename.

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Enable runtime logging, for example with adb shell setprop debug.dotnet.log default,assembly,gc.
  2. Launch a .NET for Android application.
  3. Inspect logcat output and observe legacy tags such as monodroid and monodroid-assembly.

Expected: the corresponding tags use dotnet and dotnet-*.
