Línea de trabajo

The feature request is: let users pass OCI image annotations (standard and custom) through to the built image. Start by finding where the CLI's devcontainer build flow invokes the image build and where build options from devcontainer.json are parsed and forwarded, since annotations must be plumbed from config to the build call. The linked OCI annotations spec defines the common keys, and the docker metadata-action link shows how values are generated in CI. Done looks like: annotations specified in config appear as labels/annotations on the built image, verified by inspecting the image manifest.

Descripción

OCI artifacts and docker images allow attaching/publishing annotations and other metadata.
While there is a set of common build/source annotations, the ability to provide custom annotations would also be useful.

There are tools like the docker metadata action that can automatically generate and retrieve this metadata in CI contexts. This is technically outside the scope of this repo, but is a reference point for how this information may be generated and used.
