Línea de trabajo
The issue only polls whether Pre-Commit-on-save should live in .vscode/settings.json or .devcontainer/devcontainer.json; there is no agreed config and no comments after years. Read those two files (if present) and the repo's existing Pre-Commit setup first. Do not add files until maintainers pick a location and the exact settings; done means a chosen file with the agreed VSCode/devcontainer keys, not a speculative patch.

Descripción
A lot of the Pre-Commit checks in this repo can be automatically handled on save for VSCode, which is usually a nicer development experience since it saves needing to commit twice and lets you see the automated changes being made quicker. If the maintainers of this project like this idea, I'd be happy to add this config.
I wanted to open up an issue to test the waters and take a poll on where this should live. A few options:
- Add a
.vscode/settings.jsonfile. This would apply for everyone using VSCode in any form, but adds another config file. - Add this config to
.devcontainer/devcontainer.json. No additional config files, but this would only apply to dev containers and GitHub workspaces.
