Línea de trabajo

Start with the existing kubernetes template and the manual steps in the linked OpenShift install docs, then add the new files under registry/coder/templates/openshift and its README. Validate by pushing the template to a Coder deployment on a real OpenShift cluster using restricted-v2. Done means the agent connects, the PVC-backed home persists across restarts, cleanup works, and the README records prerequisites and the tested OpenShift version.

Descripción

We should have an OpenShift template in the registry. Today the only path is the manual steps at the end of our OpenShift install docs: start from the kubernetes template, strip the security contexts, and point it at an image built for the project's UID range.

This should work out of the box on a default OpenShift cluster (the restricted-v2 SCC) without anyone loosening SCCs.

Scope

  • New template under registry/coder/templates/openshift, based on the existing kubernetes template
  • Runs under restricted-v2: no hardcoded run_as_user / fs_group, let OpenShift assign the UID from the project's range
  • Uses an image that works with an arbitrary UID (home dir writable by the root group, no assumption of UID 1000)
  • Persistent home directory via a PVC
  • README covering prerequisites (oc, project, permissions the provisioner needs) and any SCC notes

Validation

  • Push the template to a Coder deployment and create a workspace against a real OpenShift cluster (not just kind/minikube), confirm the agent connects, the home dir persists across restarts, and the workspace can be stopped/deleted cleanly
  • Note the OpenShift version tested in the README
