Línea de trabajo

Start by tracing the lease request through the CLI, MCP lease_simulator, and HTTP interfaces, then inspect how iOS simulator names are set. The issue specifies a display-only optional label: with one, the iOS simulator name should show it; without one, behavior stays unchanged. Android window-title support is explicitly out of scope, and pull request #1243 is already open.

Descripción

platform:android platform:ios request:new
The problem

When several leases are open on one machine, every Android emulator window is titled simlock <id>:<port>, and iOS simulators keep Simlock's generated names. With two or more windows open, nothing on screen says which window belongs to which lease, so you match serials by hand.

Who runs into this

A developer running parallel coding agents on one Mac, one per git worktree, each with its own leased device and its own app build. They switch between the device windows all day and need to tell at a glance which one is running which branch.

What you would like to happen

An optional label on the lease request, shown as the device's window title:

  • CLI: simlock lease --platform ios --label feature-x
  • MCP: label on lease_simulator
  • HTTP: label on the lease request body

Behaviour from the outside:

  • iOS: the simulator's name is the label, so Simulator.app and DeviceHub (#1239) show it.
  • Android: not possible with today's AVD naming. The emulator titles its window with the AVD name; neither avd.ini.displayname nor the -id launch flag changes it (checked on emulator 36.5). A per-lease title on Android needs a different way to name AVDs, which is a separate decision.
  • No label: nothing changes.

The label is display-only: it does not affect routing or matching, and it is bounded like any other text on the wire.

Anything else

Today's workaround is matching each window's serial (emulator-5586) or UDID to the lease by hand.

I'll follow up with a draft PR implementing the iOS part.

Written by an agent.
