Línea de trabajo

Start by inspecting the AppleApp Expo E2E test setup and Detox artifacts or simulator logs for the cited failed runs; the issue does not name specific files. Compare the hangs across Expo 57 and 58, then check whether a shorter per-test timeout or a single retry helps isolate the cause. Done means the intermittent launch hang is diagnosed and the E2E job no longer burns 12 minutes on a failure.

Descripción

The AppleApp Expo E2E jobs fail every now and then on a Jest timeout. It's not the same test every time and it happens on both Expo 57 and Expo 58. Packaging and the Xcode builds pass, so it looks like a Detox / simulator problem rather than the app being broken.

What the logs show: Detox launches the app and starts the XCUITest runner, and then there's nothing for ~12 minutes until The app has not responded to the network requests below and the 720s test timeout. The next test relaunches the app and passes just fine.

Failed runs:

Each hang also costs ~12 min of a macOS runner, which makes it worse.

Ideas:

  • check what the app is doing during the hang (simulator logs / Detox artifacts for the failing test)
  • lower the per-test timeout so a hang fails fast instead of burning 12 min
  • retry the failed test once with jest.retryTimes until we find the root cause
