Línea de trabajo

Start by reproducing the multi-monitor case using wf-shell.ini, with [panel] autohide = false and outputs restricted to selected displays. Investigate wf-panel's rendering and output-boundary behavior, comparing slow and rapid pointer crossings. Done means the panel remains rendered on every configured output without requiring pointer-triggered redraws.

Descripción

Describe the bug
wf-panel randomly stops rendering / disappears on configured outputs when using a multi-monitor setup and restricting the panel to specific outputs via the outputs configuration variable. The panel has autohide = false.

When it disappears, bringing the pointer slowly from a lower display boundary upwards into the secondary monitor triggers a boundary/enter event and forces the panel to redraw. Moving the pointer rapidly across the boundary fails to trigger the redraw.

Note: Confirmed cross-platform (reproduces identically on both Linux and FreeBSD with Wayfire).

To Reproduce

  1. Set up a multi-monitor environment (2 or more displays).
  2. In wf-shell.ini, set [panel] with autohide = false and constrain outputs to a subset of displays (e.g., outputs = DP-1 DP-2 or excluding a primary display).
  3. Interact with the system / move focus between displays during normal usage.
  4. Observe that wf-panel randomly disappears on the target output. When this happens, any application running in fullscreen on that display drops out of fullscreen mode.
  5. Move the cursor quickly across the display boundary: panel remains invisible.
  6. Move the cursor slowly across the bottom-to-top boundary into the output: panel repaints/reappears.
    Expected behavior
wf-panel should remain persistently rendered on all specified outputs without requiring motion-triggered redraws across output boundaries.
