Feature request

Please add native Neon integration to TablePro, including project discovery and database branch management.

Since TablePro already supports PostgreSQL, Neon databases should be accessible through standard PostgreSQL connections. It would be useful to go further and support Neon-specific workflows directly within TablePro.

Problem / use case

Working with multiple Neon branches requires switching between the Neon console and the database client, copying connection strings, and maintaining separate saved connections.

An integrated workflow would make it easier to create an isolated development branch, connect to it, test queries or migrations, and compare its schema with the parent branch.

Suggested initial scope

  • Connect a Neon account using an API key, stored securely.
  • Browse available projects, branches, databases, and roles.
  • Connect to a selected branch without manually copying connection details.
  • Choose between direct and pooled connections.
  • Create a branch from an existing branch and connect to it.
  • Clearly display the active project and branch in query tabs to reduce accidental changes to production.

Additional features

  • Rename and delete branches, with confirmation for destructive actions.
  • Reset a development branch from its parent.
  • Compare schemas between branches.
  • Create branches from a supported point in time.
  • Show branch relationships and compute status.
  • Respect protected branches and provide clear production indicators.
  • Handle suspended compute and connection wake-up gracefully.

Project discovery, branch selection, and branch creation would already make a useful first version. More advanced management features could follow incrementally.

Alternative

Continue managing branches in the Neon console and manually configure a PostgreSQL connection for each branch in TablePro.
