This is a performance investigation, not a patch request. The bisect points at commit dcdc1043 (#1279, removal of vendoring code) and 4c800ac5 (#1370), with the rest of the regression in eca5d247..17793173. Start by rebuilding the perf profile and running socket-patch-bench compare on bun-isolated/rescan as given in the repro. Done means the wall-time regression is traced to a specific change and fixed, confirmed by a CI that excludes zero.

Base cc938aa6 (main, 2026-10-09) → head 657fce2b (main, 2026-10-15). Same machine, interleaved pairs. Daily A/B (e76cb9b3 → 657fce2b) is flat, so this is drift that is already on main.
