Trace Enter key handling from the input entry point and find where the focused element receives keydown and the active element is clicked afterward. Reproduce the described A-to-B focus change and identify the relevant tests. Done means Enter activates only the element that received the key, including when its keydown handler moves focus.

  • Enter dispatches keydown to the focused element, then activates whatever is focused afterwards
  • When the keydown handler moves focus (e.g. a list navigating to a page whose button takes focus), the new element is clicked by the same Enter
  • Repro: element A with onkeydown that focuses B; B has onclick; press Enter on A, B's onclick runs
  • Expected: Enter activates only the element that received it
