Python 3.14 has been out for a year, but the CI test matrix (.github/workflows/ci.yml, python-version: ["3.10", "3.11", "3.12", "3.13"]) and the Programming Language :: Python :: 3.x classifiers in pyproject.toml stop at 3.13. Users on 3.14 can install the package (requires-python = ">=3.10" has no upper bound) but nothing tells them it works.

What to do

  1. Add "3.14" to the python-version list in the test job.
  2. Move the "newest leg" special cases that are keyed on matrix.python-version == '3.13' (ci.yml lines 98, 103 and 110 as of e410de6) to 3.14, so coverage and the extra steps run on the newest Python. Check every other 3.13 reference in the workflows (grep -rn "3.13" .github/, which also finds docs.yml) and decide case by case. Leave the pinned single-version jobs (3.10 dependency floors, 3.11/3.12 lint and build jobs) alone unless a step needs 3.14.
  3. Add the Programming Language :: Python :: 3.14 classifier.
  4. If a test fails only on 3.14, report it in this issue rather than skipping it; a real incompatibility should be fixed, not hidden.

Add a CHANGELOG entry under [Unreleased].
