fitchproof puts a table into an otherwise empty flushleft. That runs afoul of https://github.com/latex3/tagging-project/issues/1622 and generates empty P structures before and after. It's not a big deal for screen readers (they'll ignore them) but A11Y checkers may complain, e.g, PDF4WCAG does.
A potential solution is to turn of paragraph tagging inside the flushleft (see issue linked above). But if user provides some other environment that needs paragraph tagging this may break.
