Línea de trabajo

Look for TUI configuration handling in the codebase, likely in a config module or TUI state management. The thinking block rendering logic is described as slicing lines; find that component. The change involves adding a config option (e.g., in tui.toml), reading it at startup, and setting the initial expanded state. Check for existing expand toggle logic to understand how to persist the state. Verify by running the TUI and testing that thinking blocks start expanded when the config is set.

Descripción

Summary

The TUI renders thinking blocks collapsed: only the last 2 lines of a thinking block are shown while streaming and in history (the component does thinkingLines.slice(thinkingLines.length - 2)). The only way to see full thinking is the global Ctrl+O expand toggle — but that is runtime-only state: it is not persisted across sessions and cannot be set from config.

Request

A configuration option to start every session with thinking blocks fully expanded, e.g. in tui.toml:

expand_thinking = true   # default: false

or a more general key that also covers tool outputs, e.g. expand_blocks = "thinking" | "all" | "none".

Why

  • Users who follow the model's reasoning (auditing agent behavior, prompt tuning, trust verification) currently have to press Ctrl+O manually in every new session.
  • [thinking] in config.toml controls behavior only (enabled / effort / keep), and none of the documented tui.toml keys affect block expansion — there is currently no way to make full-thinking display the default.
