From #517: @dgopress12 crops batches of pictures for Instagram at 4:5 and can't find that ratio. The crop's aspect dial has Free, Original, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9, plus their portrait turns.
I'll take this. Here's the plan, as a PR for @KnifeLemon to approve:
- A 5:4 slice on the aspect dial, between 1:1 and 4:3. It turns like the others, so an upright picture gets 4:5, Instagram's portrait size. That adds one slot to the crop's dial, not to the donut.
Two questions for you before I go further:
- Keep the ratio across a batch? Today each file starts at Free (
The_next_file_starts_free_and_full_in_view_and_canvas_alike), so a batch for Instagram means picking 4:5 again for every picture. Should the chosen ratio carry over to the next file? - A custom W:H ratio? That would be a "Custom" slice with two number boxes. Worth it, or are the fixed ratios enough?
