Línea de trabajo

Start by locating the release deployment workflow and how it currently invokes Velero; then check the existing scheduled-backup configuration and Prisma migration flow. The issue does not name files or tests, so trace those entry points before estimating the change. Done means a backup is triggered immediately before each release deploy, while the daily scheduled backup remains in place.

Descripción

tech debt

Velero runs a scheduled daily backup. Releases go out at arbitrary times (every morning), so by the time we deploy the newest restore point can already be many hours old.

A deploy doesn't remove data on its own, so the case this covers is a migration that does. Migrations run automatically on every deploy, the backend applies any pending ones before the server starts, and Prisma migrations are forward-only. Rolling back to the previous image changes the code but leaves the schema as the migration left it, so a restore is the only way to recover data a migration dropped.

That's where the timing matters. If the last backup ran in the morning and the release goes out in the evening, restoring costs everything written in between, and rows created after the backup ran have nothing to restore from at all.

Prior art: #704 asked for a scheduled backup and was closed once Velero was in place. A backup tied to each release is a different requirement, not a replacement for the schedule.
