Reproduce with the numbered steps: Firefox, an offline page refresh, then Add to Home screen, which crashes or does nothing on the launcher. Start with the attached Launcher log for the stack trace, then find where the launcher handles incoming home-screen shortcut requests. Done means the shortcut is created without a crash while offline. The cause is not yet identified, and no maintainer has responded in 324 days.

Steps to reproduce the bug
  1. Go to Firefox
  2. Go to a website that that browser would consider a webapp (such as https://www.wuxiaworld.com/ )
  3. Turn off the internet on the phone via the quick drawer
  4. Refresh the page so Firefox would display "Looks like there's a problem with your internet connection".
  5. Click on the tripple dot menu & there click on Add to Home screen
  6. In the popup whether we rename the bookmark or not the bug will sill occur, just click on "add".
  7. Either crash or nothing happens
Expected behavior

Expected behavior is to get a bookmark on my home screen, similar to how it actually works fine for regular websites without the force offline workaround.

Actual behavior

Either nothing happens, or there is a crash.

Why am I doing this?

I want to make a specific bookmark on my home screen that points to a specific place within a "webapp" type webpage. The workaround for this on Firefox mobile (& ios safari as well btw) is to turn off the internet & refresh the page before making the bookmark, otherwise only the intro page of the webapp can be bookmarked.
