The payload names no files, so start from CONTRIBUTING.md and find where the existing digit and clear buttons are wired to the expression input. Add a backspace control that removes the last typed character, following the same pattern. Done when a tap removes one character from the expression and a manual check on the Android build confirms it.

it is bandy to not have to clear every typed character, when you made a mistake
