Descripción

bug severity/minor

#201 keeps ./ before a relative input that starts with -, so that no tool reads it as an option. A name that starts with @ may have the same problem one level down: gcc and clang read an argument @file as a response file, and expand its contents into command-line options.

Expected problem (not reproduced yet)

--input @F.c --dyn: the runtime analyzer passes @F.c to the compiler after its own --. If a file F.c exists, the compiler would expand its contents as options instead of compiling @F.c; otherwise it would fail on a missing response file.

To do

  • Check which tools read @ arguments: the compiler behind the runtime analyzer, and the in-process compilation of the stack and concurrency analyzers through coretrace-compiler.
  • If any does, extend notAnOption() (include/Process/Tools/InputPaths.hpp) to names starting with @, with a test like ctrace_input_starting_with_dash_is_a_file.
