What happened

Found on 2026-10-02 during the pre-staging happy-path pass on dev 06a3283dd. The card code is unchanged since v0.6.0.

/standing remind me to drink water every day at 9am puts up a card carrying a short title the model wrote (Daily water reminder, and Drink water reminder on a retry), not the person's sentence. The sentence is only in the human message above the card. Scheduling, 0 to decline, and every day at 9am on the card are all correct.

standing-orders.md, "How do I set one up — you just say it", says: "The card appears in the transcript with your own sentence on it." The page's introduction adds: "Your own sentence is kept word for word and is never rewritten; a short title may be drawn beside it on narrow rows." This was at 160 columns, which is not narrow.

Replication

Field (cheap model, under $0.01). A profile with a key. codeaf in any folder, /budget conversation 1, then /standing remind me to drink water every day at 9am. Today the card's first line is the generated title.

Where

internal/tui3/standing.go: the card's words come from notice.Item.Title() and fall back to the person's sentence only when no title was written (the code comment says so). standing_test.go requires a rule card to keep the sentence, but no test covers a reminder card with a title.

The fix

Choose one and make the other agree. Either the card carries the person's sentence word for word, with the title beside it only on narrow rows (what the page promises), or the page says a short title stands in for the sentence on the card.

Acceptance

  • e2e / unit: a reminder card built from an item with a title shows the person's sentence at 160 columns, or the manual section quotes the title behaviour.
