Research direction

Read the ADR referenced by the issue and inspect evals/preflight.py, the calibrated default, and REPORT §4w. Measure whether typed edges applied after ranking can fold r_pin_gating_tools and d_unpinned_linter into one briefing slot without using edges to find lessons; compare the bench and pre-flight results. The issue does not identify specific tests or define success thresholds.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Under the calibrated default, the eval task ci_linter's rule (r_pin_gating_tools) clears the line and ranks sixth behind the cap of five, while d_unpinned_linter, the defect it generalizes with the same fix, takes a slot (evals/preflight.py accepted gap, REPORT §4w). Two slots for one lesson. Typed edges after ranking (never to find lessons, per the ADR) could fold a rule and its defect into one slot. Measure the effect on the bench and the pre-flight. Refs #291.
