Research direction

Start with the pytest -k checks stored by the project and inspect how okl verify processes them. Find the stored check with a dead selector term, then add a test showing that verification warns when a -k term selects no tests. Done when okl verify emits that warning and the test passes.

Description

enhancement loop-review

Proposal

  • Warn when a pytest -k 'a or b' selector term collects nothing. One stored check already has a dead term.
  • Stop suggesting --expect passed (src/okl/cli/verification.py, the suggestion okl verify prints).
  • Do not require --expect: every stamp already has one.
  • Redesign the fail-first proof before building it. As designed it produces fake failures, because tests land together with their fix.

Acceptance

  • okl verify warns on a -k term that selects no tests, with a test.

From an unpublished 2026-10-10 multi-agent review of okl, in which two reviewer agents checked each recommendation, one against the code and one for value at its cost. R25, priority P2 (P0 highest). This issue describes the version they endorsed.
