Research direction

The payload names no files or tests, so start by reproducing it: select a clip so the inspector shows it, switch apps with Cmd-Tab and back, and confirm it shows “Nothing to Inspect.” Because it also happens with no SpliceKit plugins installed and not in stock Final Cut Pro, look at how SpliceKit's own code touches the app's selection or window activation. Done means the inspector keeps the selection across an app switch.

Description

Inspector loses its selection after switching apps (Cmd-Tab)
FCP 12.4, SpliceKit 3.3.9, macOS 27.0.1.
Select a clip so the inspector shows it (e.g. the Effects tab), Cmd-Tab to another app, then Cmd-Tab back. The inspector shows “Nothing to Inspect” until the clip is reselected. It happens with no SpliceKit plugins installed and doesn’t happen in stock Final Cut Pro.
