Research direction

Start by locating where study external links are assembled and trace how the primary identifier becomes the ICTR Trial2.aspx URL. Compare the failing 2004-000012-13 example with the working TCTR20241030016 example, then check existing study-link tests or fixtures. Done means the generated link reaches a specific study rather than a generic ICTR page, with coverage for the identifier behavior.

Description

not always the link, using the ictr url and our primary identifier, works (i.e. ictr does not return any study but a generic page).
e.g.
https://trialsearch.who.int/Trial2.aspx?TrialID=2004-000012-13

while this works:
https://trialsearch.who.int/Trial2.aspx?TrialID=TCTR20241030016

to check if we should use another identifier for the link
