Research direction

Start by reviewing the project-level README.md, the README.md files under server, and the separate ./server/example_configurations structure. Compare their current instructions with the server layout and determine what information is missing for running it; done means the README files consistently document the updated structure and run instructions.

Description

documentation server

Previously, we adapted our server project structure and with that, split our project-level README.md into smaller parts, in preparation for the separate ./server/example_configurations.

Now we should make sure that the README.md files are up to date and expand them were necessary with new information on how to run it.
