Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating the existing event dispatch path and the add_handler implementation; the work is done when an analogous processor mechanism can modify dispatched events before outgoing sampling requests, with its behavior covered by tests.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

feature

Implement ability to process/modify dispatched events on-the-fly, e.g. analogous with add_handler we can add add_processor.

This could, for example, be used to easily set default parameter values on some/all outgoing sampling requests.
