Research direction

The issue proposes password rotation backed by isolated hosting and master keys, but names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by reading Varlock’s documentation and existing secret management implementation to determine whether this scope fits the project. Done would require an agreed design for secret storage, injection, and rotation; the issue has had no activity for 232 days.

Description

Thank you for building Varlock. Sounds like a great project, could it rotate the passwords which it injects into the code? Once the password is injected into the code, it can be also leaked through logs and other kinds of ways.

This would be hosted in a dedicated, isolated environment with a higher security stance. It would hold the master keys, which would automatically create and rotate passwords for the code. The master keys would never be exposed to the code, and that way, when some kind of AI tool is working with the code, even if the AI finds a way to know the password, then after rotation timeout, key would be invlaid. If key would be leaked, it would be already expired.
