Research direction

Start by locating the trace search entry point and how it currently accesses remote storage; the issue does not name files or tests. Then inspect how local .pi, .codex, and .claude trace storage is represented. Done means trace queries can work against those local stores without requiring infrastructure, with tests covering the local-storage path.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

our trace search tool should work over local storage of traces (.pi, .codex, .claude), which will let folks get 0-to-value of trace queries before setting any kind of infrastructure up :)
