Research direction

A linked pull request is already open, so review it before taking on this work. Read completions/completions.zsh, tests/test_completions.py, and the README's “Shell completion” section; inspect build_parser() for the commands and flags. Done means the fish completion covers them, the specified fish completion queries work, and python -m unittest discover -s tests -t . passes.

Description

enhancement good first issue

btc-toolkit ships static shell completions for bash and zsh in completions/. fish users get none.

What to do

  • Add completions/btc-toolkit.fish: the 11 commands with a short description each, and for each command exactly the flags it accepts. completions/btc-toolkit.zsh is the reference.
  • Extend tests/test_completions.py so the fish file is checked against the CLI the same way bash and zsh are (commands and flags come from build_parser(); a new CLI flag must make the test fail until the completion lists it).
  • Mention fish next to bash and zsh in the README ("Shell completion").

Done when

  • In fish, complete -C 'btc-toolkit ' lists the commands and complete -C 'btc-toolkit tx --' lists the flags of tx.
  • python -m unittest discover -s tests -t . passes.
