Research direction

The payload shows only a MacPorts build log where the py27-cairo port fails under BigSur, with no reproduction steps or GPREDICT source references. Start by reproducing the failure with MacPorts on macOS 11, then read the full build log for the first compiler or linker error. Done means the install completes, or the failure is traced to a specific port or dependency fix. The issue has had no reply in about four years and the py27 port has probably changed, so check whether it still reproduces before investing effort.
