Research direction

Edit docs/practitioners/index.md: replace the End User Groups bullet with the phrasing from docs/community/index.md as given in the issue. Verify the homepage now lists only groups present in the /community/user-groups catalog. Done when the bullet matches the recommended text and links correctly.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Finding

docs/practitioners/index.md (the site homepage, slug /) advertises five End User Group verticals:

End User Groups — industry-focused groups for financial services, research, public sector, telecom, and transportation. Browse groups.

Verified against the GitHub API on 2026-10-24:

  • cncf/financial-user-group — archived
  • cncf/transportation-user-group — archived
  • cncf/research-user-group — active upstream, but has no page in this site's catalog

Meanwhile the catalog the sentence links to (/community/user-groups, and the pillar list on docs/community/index.md) documents exactly three groups: Platform Engineering, Public Sector, and Telecom. Three of the five industries the homepage names have no page on the site, and two of the named groups no longer exist as active CNCF groups — a visitor following the homepage to the catalog finds a different list than the one that sent them there.

Recommendation

Align the homepage bullet with the site's own catalog, mirroring the phrasing already used on docs/community/index.md:

End User Groups — long-lived peer groups aligned to an industry vertical or problem domain, such as Public Sector, Telecom, and Platform Engineering. Browse groups.

Whether the Research User Group (active upstream) belongs in this site's catalog is a separate content-completeness question for the TAB-facing maintainers; this issue covers only the homepage text disagreeing with the catalog it links to.
