Research direction

Open docs/metrics/index.md around lines 29-30, where the sentence splits across a line break and names the retired "Import reference architectures" workflow. Confirm the real workflow in .github/workflows/refresh-metrics.yml (name: Refresh metrics, workflow_dispatch) and check CONTRIBUTING.md for the wording already fixed in #1530. Done when the sentence names the Refresh metrics workflow and validate:metrics, and no reference to the old name remains in that file.

Documentation Gap

docs/metrics/index.md:29-30 tells readers:

Metrics are refreshed on demand from public CNCF sources via the "Import
reference architectures" workflow and validated before each site build.

No workflow named Import reference architectures exists in .github/workflows/. That name was retired; the same stale reference in CONTRIBUTING.md was fixed by #1530, but this second occurrence (in the rendered /metrics docs page) was missed — it is invisible to single-line grep because the phrase is split across a line break.

The actual on-demand refresh path is the Refresh metrics workflow (.github/workflows/refresh-metrics.yml, workflow_dispatch only), which runs collect:metrics/validate:metrics and friends. The architectures submission flow is a different workflow (architecture-submission.yml) and has nothing to do with metrics.

Recommendation

Rewrite the sentence to name the real workflow, e.g.:

Metrics are refreshed on demand from public CNCF sources via the Refresh metrics workflow (.github/workflows/refresh-metrics.yml, run from the Actions tab) and validated with validate:metrics before each site build.

Evidence

  • grep -n "Import" docs/metrics/index.md → lines 29-30 (phrase split across the break).
  • ls .github/workflows/ → no import-reference-architectures.yml; refresh-metrics.yml has name: Refresh metrics and on: workflow_dispatch.
  • CONTRIBUTING.md already documents the "Refresh metrics" workflow (fixed in #1530).
