Research direction

Start with e2e/doctor-drift.test.ts, especially the named drift test and the assertion at line 217. Run the test repeatedly with six parallel runs, as described in the issue, and trace how the vanished device's state is determined. Done when the test reliably marks the vanished device deleted rather than ready or recreated.

Description

bug:new flaky-test

e2e/doctor-drift.test.ts, 'reports registry vs. reality drift, applies only registry-safe fixes, and skips leased devices'. Error: vanished deviceC should be marked deleted, not recreated: expected 'ready' to be 'deleted' (e2e/doctor-drift.test.ts:217). Reproduces on origin/main f5c796f: 7 of 18 runs failed with 6 runs in parallel (3 rounds of 6). Also seen in CI on PR #394 (run 37442268426). Not caused by #369 (3 of 18 on its branch too, same code path on main).
