Research direction

No source files or tests are named. Start by inspecting the package's platform metadata and dependency declarations, then reproduce the reported installation with Node 16.3.2 and npm 8.1.2 on Darwin arm64. Done means establishing whether Apple Silicon support is feasible and documenting or addressing the unsupported-platform result.

Description

In attempting to install gulp-load-plugins, was hit with this issue:

npm ERR! code EBADPLATFORM
npm ERR! notsup Unsupported platform for [email protected]: wanted {"os":"linux"} (current: {"os":"darwin","arch":"arm64"})
npm ERR! notsup Valid OS: linux
npm ERR! notsup Valid Arch: undefined
npm ERR! notsup Actual OS: darwin
npm ERR! notsup Actual Arch: arm64

Is there a reason that ARM64-based machines would have an issue?

Currently running Node 16.3.2 and NPM 8.1.2.

Also cross-referencing this issue with one opened on gulp-load-plugins.
