Research direction

Start by reproducing the OpenVINO-related build failure and inspect the current error output and CI configuration. Define whether the work should improve debug-symbol support, add CI coverage, or both; done means failures provide more useful diagnostics and the relevant build or CI checks pass.

Description

Currently if our build breaks because of OpenVINO, we get very generic and unhelpful error messages that don't give a clear picture of what is going wrong. Perhaps figuring out how to either build with debug symbols or some additional CI tests to ensure things work as expected.
