Research direction

Locate the two sample programs named in the issue, lexed_tokens and real_positions, and inspect their enum bitwise expressions. Update the incompatible operations so the samples build under current C++ standards, then run the relevant Wave sample or CI checks to confirm both programs compile successfully.

Description

C++20 deprecated, and C++23 removed, the ability to do bitwise arithmetic between different type enums. Wave uses this feature in two sample programs: lexed_tokens and real_positions and it's showing up in our newly updated CI.
