Research direction

Inspect the repository's shell scripts and their shebangs, then reproduce the behavior on the ubuntu-24.04 GitHub Actions runner. Determine which scripts run in sh compatibility mode and whether the requested option is currently supported; done means the intended pipefail behavior is applied consistently without causing the runner failure.

Description

All scripts should specify -o pipefail.

Problem right now: bash (at least on ubunut-24.04 gha runner), when is run in sh compat mode (i.e. sees the sh shebang), gets angry and quits whenever it sees -o pipefail.

Maybe in the future it gets resoved. Then I'll add -o pipefail back.
