Research direction

Start with node/query-redis-labs/src/redis.js and trace how the Redis client gets its connection settings; the issue says its port is fixed at 14714. Check how the function template supplies REDIS_HOST and REDIS_PASSWORD, then decide how to expose the database's port or accept a connection URL. Done when Redis Cloud databases using their assigned ports can connect through the template configuration.

Description

bug javascript

Summary

query-redis-labs can only connect to a Redis Cloud database that happens to use port 14714.

Details

  • node/query-redis-labs/src/redis.js creates the client with port: 14714 (same at 1.2.0 and main).
  • Redis Cloud assigns each database its own port, and the Console template only asks for REDIS_HOST and REDIS_PASSWORD. That config lives in app/config/templates/function.php in appwrite/appwrite.

Suggested fix

Read the port from a REDIS_PORT variable and add it to the template's variables in appwrite/appwrite, or accept a full connection URL.

Notes

This turned up while adding templates to the appwrite.io integrations catalog. The Redis page is held back until this is fixed.
