Research direction

Start with the multiRow parser and SshCollectImplTest, which the issue identifies through its debug logs. Run the tests with the supplied aligned and tab-separated stdout examples and inspect how the parser splits header and data lines. Done means aliases map to the expected name, size, and used values while preserving missing-column handling.

Description

Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I searched existing issues and pull requests.

Current Behavior

The multiRow parser splits on a literal single space. Padding creates empty tokens and tabs stay inside tokens, so field aliases can receive the wrong value or NULL for normal aligned command output.

Expected Behavior

Trim each header/data line and split runs of whitespace. Keep alias-based projection and missing-column handling.

Steps To Reproduce

Use parseType=multiRow, aliases name,size,used, and stdout " NAME\t SIZE USED \ndisk1\t40G 15G \n disk2 20G\t5G" (\t/\n denote tabs/newlines). Expected rows disk1,40G,15G and disk2,20G,5G. The current parser misaligns those columns.

Environment

master at 40f5aac47e332f5240cc1a58ba7d201b4f456d2a. macOS, JDK 26 targeting Java 25.

Debug logs

JDK 26 targeting Java 25: SshCollectImplTest, 18 tests passed using Maven verify with default checkstyle/enforcer. 2 tests failed against the original parser. Coverage reporting was skipped because no JaCoCo execution file was produced.
