Research direction

Start in the VS Code extension code that creates the claudePlanPreview webview panel and compare its options with those used for the chat panel. Confirm the preview omits enableFindWidget, then add it and open a plan preview to check that Cmd+F (or Ctrl+F) opens the find widget.

What's Wrong?

In the VS Code extension, the plan preview panel (the tab that opens automatically when Claude presents a plan, headed "Ready for review / Select text to add comments on the plan") does not respond to Cmd+F (Ctrl+F on Windows/Linux). No find bar appears, so there is no way to search a long plan inside the panel.

The cause appears to be a missing webview option. In extension.js of the installed extension (2.1.308), the plan preview panel is created without enableFindWidget, while the main Claude chat panel sets it:

// plan preview: no enableFindWidget
createWebviewPanel("claudePlanPreview", J, {viewColumn: X, preserveFocus: !0},
  {enableScripts: !0, retainContextWhenHidden: !0})

// chat panel: enableFindWidget set
createWebviewPanel("claudeVSCodePanel", ...,
  {enableScripts: !0, retainContextWhenHidden: !0, enableFindWidget: !0, localResourceRoots: [...]})

VS Code shows its find widget in a webview only when the extension passes enableFindWidget: true in WebviewPanelOptions (API reference). No user setting can turn it on.

What Should Happen?

Cmd+F in the plan preview panel should open VS Code's find widget, the same way it does in a Markdown preview or an editor tab. The likely fix is adding enableFindWidget: true to the claudePlanPreview panel options.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In the VS Code extension, ask Claude for a task in plan mode so that it calls ExitPlanMode and the plan preview tab opens.
  2. Click inside the plan preview tab to focus it.
  3. Press Cmd+F.
  4. Nothing happens: no find bar opens.

For comparison, opening the same plan file (~/.claude/plans/<name>.md) in an editor tab or the built-in Markdown preview and pressing Cmd+F opens the find bar as expected.

Is this a regression?

I don't know

Additional Information

Workaround: open the underlying file in ~/.claude/plans/ in a normal editor tab and search there. That loses the panel's select-to-comment feature, which is the reason to read the plan in the preview at all.

I searched for duplicates and found none. The closest open issue is #65858, which asks for search within the chat conversation, not the plan preview.
